Deepika Padukone's special appearance in Jawan has been one of Jawan's blockbuster attractions. At the press meet for the film, Shah Rukh Khan joked about "fooling" Deepika into shooting an entire film - "she didn't even know she was a main character." Deepika also laughed about being "conned" by SRK and Atlee, saying she did the film not just for SRK but also the impact her role would have.
