Uttar Pradesh has approved to double the operation of Shamik Special trains and Bihar has given nod for operating 50 such trains daily to transport stranded migrant workers, railway minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday. Railway ministry officials said so far more than 1,400 Shramik Specials have moved approximately 18.5 lakh stranded migrant workers, students and tourists.
