UP govt has set a 7-day deadline for response to property attachment notices slapped on those accused of damaging public property during CAA protests. More than 150 notices have been issued by the Lucknow administration. The govt has taken recourse to a 2010 Allahabad HC order which allows the govt to claim damages for public property destroyed during protests or riots from those convicted for violence.
