Jet fuel hike, rupee crash may push airfares up

Airline officials suggest the twin impact of hike in aviation turbine fuel and a crashing rupee is going to be devastating for the carriers. An airline like Air India anticipates ATF costs to rise by Rs 65 crore this month. Airline sources say aviation turbine fuel (ATF) will cost about Rs 74,530 per kilo-litre (kl, 1000 litres) in Delhi.
